Soccer at Memorial park Friday

Reminder to meet Mr Coo and Mr Miller at school at 5 minutes to 8 Friday morning. We will walk over the Memorial park for a 50 minute game on the turf. See you there. Bring a hat. Should be cold.

Girls City finals

Fantastic sunny warm day. Wait . No. Actually not so much BUT. Soccer stops for nothing so we played in a lot of rain.
Jr girls were incredibly close to winning it all. A goal post away in fact. Then shoot outs in the finals but it was not to be.
Amazing amount of hard work! Girls soccer rules!

In the afternoon Coo and I thought the sun was on the way but... No way dude. More rain. So we quit. NO WAY we played and the Sr girls played 5 fantastic games and finished a strong 4th overall. Amazing hard work again.
Be proud Dragon girls. Be very proud. your coaches are.

Jr. boys are city champs!!!

The title says it all. Mackenzie is number 1 in Vancouver for Jr boys soccer!
So much hard work and dedication by those boys.

Sr Girls going to city finals!

Super proud to say Mackenzie's Sr girls have made it to the city finals. They gave it everything they had and every player on the team contributed in an inspiring way to make it happen. Wow. That was exciting! Can't say enough about the hard work these girls put in to there games today You deserve it!

Also the Jr girls are in the finals as well. Not as much drama because it was an automatic in but they also played very hard to go in on top of there group!

Soccer practices and game times

Ok. Here we go. Next week it begins.

Monday mornings are girls practice time. 8am sharp,on the field.

Monday 3pm Jr. Boys meet with your coach's and go to Mount Pleasant elementary for your games. Every Monday.

Tuesday. Jr Girls play at Mount Pleasant 3pm meetup with your coach's.

Wednesday mornings. Boys practice. 8am.

Wednesday Sr Girls. play at Carleton elementary Meet your coach's at 3pm.

Please, It only works when we have mom and dad involved, driving you, ( and cheering you on) to the games. I can''t fit you all on my bicycle.

Soccer Season kicks off!

Welcome back soccer party animals! Lets get at it. Well actually we already are full speed ahead. We have 44 kids signed up for our school teams. We also have futsal happening in the gym (rainy days) and we are back with our awesome soccer parties out on the field at recess and lunch. Great to see alot of excited grade 4's, 5's and 6's out there having fun with Coo man and I plus another group of youngesters playing there own game on field 1!
Practices will begin for Mackenzie's school teams shortly. Stay tuned to my blog and Mr Coo's for updates. Looks to be an exciting season! Go Dragons!

Thursday soccer at Memorial

Ok boys and girls. We are going to get together this Thursday morning at 9am before it gets to hot. Please make sure you have some water with you. Should be fun. Happy Canada day!

Soccer fun!

Another great day at Memorial field. We had 20 kids come out for a 2 hour game. I am hoping to get together again next week. Thursday is looking possible BUT I will make that official early next week so please check back to my blog for further details. After that I am away on a trip to Winnipeg for 3 weeks, so I will not host again until late July.
Thanks to everyone that is coming out. Mr.Coo made a comment that he had missed you and I agreed. We love to play soccer and have fun and the mood out on the pitch today seemed to have a lot of laughs so that's great!Please keep checking back and I will update the next game time when I can finalize it!

Soccer at Memorial this Wednesday morning!

All right you soccer crazy maniacs. We are going to be getting together on Wednesday at 11am for a fun kick around. We will meet at the turf.All grade 5,6,and 7's are welcome.Make sure you bring some water. We will play for about an hour and a half depending on how much fun we are having.

Summer soccer

Hey kids!
Mr Coo and I will be hosting some summer soccer fun in the next couple of months, at Memorial park. Come one come all! How will you know when we are playing? Keep checking this sports blog right here for updates. We managed to get together last week and for those of you that attended,(25 of you) you know how much fun that was!

Grade 3's are.....Soccer crazy!

As we get ready to send off our wonderful grade 7 soccer stars onto further sporting glory, Mr. Coo and I are happy to announce a new group of up and coming soccer stars. Mrs. Lam and Mrs. Weatheralls soccer crazy boys and girls.Nothing could please Mr. Coo and I more than to see these little devils out there every recess playing there hearts out. Fantastic! Thanks to there wonderful enthusiasm and a great helping hand from there encouraging teachers, we are 2 weeks into a fun filled Tuesday morning soccer sessions with them. Mr. Coo and I  are always eager to support such passionate and enthusiastic kids that want to play and have fun as well as stay physically fit. Bravo kids, you rock! Here's hoping that we build on this next year to something bigger and better!

BC place tourney

Thanks to all the kids that participated last week in the special tournament at BC place. Tons of fun, great soccer and what a great, great opportunity! Mackenzie kids are all over this city playing sports!Even in the biggest and best stadium. Awesome guys and girls! Please have a gander at the school website for a bunch of pics!

April Schedule

We are back into it at Mac and things have already swung into high gear. Badminton and after school gymnastics have carried on at there usual times. Mr Miller, however, has swung his schedule into spring mode. As usual it simply means we play with the sun and fresh air. If it is nice out (and sometimes like today) when it's not, we are OUTSIDE. Yeah! The great outdoors. I have reserved our beloved floor hockey for 1 more month.The following is the NEW schedule until gymnastics takes over in May....
Monday -Beat it boys.. Girls ONLY 8am-9am.
Tuesday- Boys only 8am-9am grades 5-7 drop in. first 18 players play.
Wednesday- Boys unless the girls want to poke there nose in there and get a line out there 8am-9am.
Every other gym time will happen on rainy days only! Then it is first come first serve. Luck has a lot to do with it.
Football started up out of nowhere this morning and that was... spontaneous...  and tons of fun. Looks like this could become a regular Thurs,FRi. morning pre -school activity. Who's in?

Friday mud bowl?

Could be a wet one tomorrow. Who's in for 8:15 am football in the mud? Grade 5 and 6's I'm putting the invite out there. Could be some guest appearances from some top notch teachers too.Looks to be fun.Hope to see you. Boys only, sorry girls. Another time....

Grade 7's take on Team Canada teachers in rematch tomorrow

In case you missed the awesome high energy first match last Tuesday, make sure you get your tickets for this game early! Mr. Martin and  Mr. Miller are revved up to take on the rowdy grade 7's once more . Should be another classic. Gym open at 8am sharp, for warm up.  Puck drop is 8:25 am.See you there....

MHL finals tomorrow!!

Los Angeles will meet New York for the final game of the season tomorrow in boys floor hockey. With New Yorks tie today vs. Chicago they secured 2nd place with LA taking 1 st overall.  Should be a great game. It is scheduled for 12:25 in the gym. Do not miss this game. Should be great.

Boys Hockey

The drop in hockey this morning turned into an all out war! Lucky to have Mr. Martin there to display some scoring genius with four goals for Team Canada. Credit to all players who played all out for almost 30 minutes. Excellent job to all. Also Allan.... you rocked in net. Allan Roberto Luongo....

Wednesday morning Girls hockey

Reminder to all girls. If you do not have appropriate footwear for sports( any sports) in the gym, you will NOT play. It is not safe and defeats the purpose of being there. Thanks and hope to see a big turn out tomorrow!

Thursday Futsal

The grade 5's got a team together this week and gave the teachers a scare. The final score was 4-3 for the teachers but there was some close calls that almost tied it up for the grade 5's. Good job to the future stars of Mackenzie elementary soccer! The teachers are hoping to get Mr. Millway back in action as he has been busy with his grade 7's for the past couple of weeks. Oh and thanks to Mr. Martin and his hat trick performance! See you next Thursday.

Soccer at Memorial park

Despite some exciting soccer fun this week at Memorial park , we are regrettably not able to continue. Mr Coo. and I are working hard behind the scenes to get us back out there, however, for the near future we are going to have to put this one on the shelf. There will be dryer days to come and we hope to get back out on our beloved home field pitch once again(minus some doggie doo doo land mines we hope!).
As for our fabulous T-shirts, they are currently on order and I expect them some time soon. Can't wait!

Wednesday morning soccer at Memorial park

Hey sleepy heads. Wake up. Miller and Coo are once again hosting a ton of fun soccer at Memorial park. Wednesday mornings at 8 am. Meet at the park or at school and we will all walk over together for fresh air, exercise and always a whole lot of laughs! Look forward to seeing a good group come out!

Team Canada ties grade 7's

A great Futsal game today in the gym. In case you missed it, the grade 7's came from behind to tie Team Canada 1-1. Both teams had many chances to score but couldn't get a second one. Mr. Miller had numerous chances but said " the net looked 2 feet wide today. I just couldn't find a spot to put it past Haseim."
Team Canada is proud to announce a new member to it's ranks. Our Kindergarten teacher Ms.... ahh I'll have to check up on her last name, but she played great and when I figure out her last name I'll let you know. "She fit in seamlessly" said Miller time, "and if Coo doesn't start scoring, he'll be sitting on the bench holding Mr Miller's water bottle!" Next week there will be a line of grade 7 allstars  ready to go. Watch out boys!
